Raven has had an interesting morning. She was awoke from her sleep to the sound of a hijacking in progress. Which was luckily put down quickly enough that she wasn't late to arrive in Gildarie. However after the boat had docked she was taken with the rest of the passengers to give statements on what had occurred.
Afterward the officers were kind enough to point her in the direction of Prof.Seedlings lab, where her first Pokemon is waiting.

Raven was trembling with excitement. This was it. The day she'd been waiting for longer than she could remember. Even better, her mom and dad were back home, and she was here, countless miles away. She had this moment all to herself, and she could make what she wanted of it. She could just imagine the pokemon waiting for trainers, hoping to be partnered with someone kind and strong and fun, like her. She refused to make hers wait any longer than she had to. Unable to contain herself, she burst into a full speed run, quickly running out of breath, only then deciding walking was probably sufficient.
Raven was wearing calf-length black cargo shorts, and a light teal full-sleeve t-shirt. The only part of her outfit that wasn't pretty much brand new was her very worn sneakers. Her parents had done their very best to convince her to use new shoes for the past year, but she didn't want to let them go yet. These were the shoes that had taken her on every little trip her mum and dad didn't know about. They deserved to be on her feet when she finally started her journey.

Raven is easily able to find the lab with the officer's directions though it was a bit of a walk from the police station. The lab's outside looked a bit drab, but the sign out front clearly marked it as Prof. Seedling's lab, though it looked like another name had been there before, but was painted over.

Raven considers knocking for a moment, but then thinks the professor is probably expecting new trainers, so she just barges right in.

Prof.Seedling looked like he was saying something to himsef when she walked in. (Roll Perception, if you get 5) It sounded like he was practicing a speech "Hello there welcome to Gildarie, I want to thank you for appl..." Prof.Seedling snapped to attention when he saw Raven "Hello there, are you one of the Trainer Applicants?" he asked curiously |

"Why yes I am, Raven Carter's the name. Were you preparing a speech just now? I'd love to hear it. We should probably do this properly. I only get to start my journey once, right? Although I really want to get started soon. Maybe you could give me the short version? Sorry, that was rude. And I'm rambling. I'll just sit here, give me as long a speech as you want."
Raven says all that in approximately five seconds, then takes a seat at the nearest convenient location (not necessarily a chair).

"Oh Raven Carter from..." he said quickly checking a paper "Johto, and of course I can do the speech properly I've been preparing it for you new trainers." he said smiling as he cleared his throat.
"Hello there, Welcome to Gildarie, and Thank you for applying to be a trainer in our Region" he said smiling bowing a bit "Thank you for aiding us in our time of need. As you have likely seen when arriving, we don't get many visitors to Gildarie, Since we've fallen out of favor with the rest of the world, but I believe with the help of trainer's like you we can prove Gildarie is ready to re-enter the league" he said smiling.
"And for you, Welcome to the world of pokemon training, as you know we live side by side with creatures called Pocket Monsters also known as Pokemon. Some people keep Pokemon as pets while others, like yourself, train them for battle. Today you will be starting on a journey that I hope you will never forget. And if you ever stumble do not worry, me and the Gildarie League will be here to support you" he said smiling.
"Now please come choose your starter. I apologize the selection is a bit smaller but a few other applicants got to them first" he said opening a case with 3 pokeballs the names on them said 'Torchic' 'Shuppet' and 'Meditite'

Raven had to think this through, this would shape her journey considerably. However, after a moment she settled on the Meditite, releasing it immediately. Despite having done her best to prepare for this moment she was nervous to meet her first own pokemon.

Meditite popped out of his ball looking around. Before looking at Raven eyeing her a bit before nodding seeming to accept her.
"Seems like he likes you. Now there's a few other things I need to give you." he said showing her the Pokedex,P*DA and Heal Ticket, explaining them to her, in the same way he'd explained it to Charlie, Sarah and Tamira.
"Now do you have any other questions for me?" he asked.

Raven nods to the meditite in kind. "Just two. Anything specific about this meditite I need to know? And do you have any suggestions where I could find some pokemon to catch? Oh, and of course where's the nearest Gym?"

"Hmm on this Meditite in paticular, well Meditie is an urban pokemon so it doesn't have many Nature capabilities usually living near cities."
"This Meditite has it standard moves of Bide,Detect,Meditate, Confusion and endure, and Special to this Meditite, is the move Bullet Bunch it inherited from it's parent." he said smiling
"They say Meditite can enhance it's inner energy through Meditate, and can even live on 1 berry a day because of that. Using the minimal eating as training" he said but didn't look sure if it was true.
"As for places to catch pokemon, there's here" he said showing her the same spots as he showed the others.
"And the closest Gym would likely be Roses, which is the Normal Gym" he said smiling showing her how to find these places with her map..

"Thanks. I'll probably head for the central park. If there's nothing else, I'll need a moment with my new friend."
Not waiting for an answer, Raven sits on the floor so she's facing Meditite directly.
"Bullet Punch huh? We'll make good use of that. I'm Raven, and I'm going to call you... hmm... how about Teppo? It doesn't really mean anything, but we'll train hard, and battle well. When we're finished, 'Teppo' will mean 'super strong awesome pokémon'. So Teppo, you ready to win?"

Prof.Seedling smiled "No problem" he said letting her connect with her pokemon without interupption.
As Teppo listened to her words, occasionally nodding, and when she finished he stood up holding his fist out looking pumped letting out a definitive "Meditite!".

The park was large, taking up about a city block, it had a large pond in the center various trees and flowers dotted around it. Near the pond was a large white stone that stood out among the various blues and greens that surrounded it.
One section was roped off the grass in that area much taller than the rest of the park.

She heads straight for the sectioned-off area. That's where she's bound to find pokémon.

After walking around for a bit, Raven was able to come across an Igglybuff sitting in a clearing, singing by itself.

"Let's show that Igglybuff we're worth joining. We'll do a bit of a surprise attack, it'll be fun." Raven recalls Teppo, then immediately flings him at the Igglybuff. Re-released in midair, Teppo immediately shifts into a combat stance, and from that into a strike. Teppo uses a struggle attack on Igglybuff(when combat starts) |

The Attack connected on the Igglybuff wounding it a bit as it turned to Raven and Teppo puffing up a bit, looking mad. Igglybuff Speed 3 |
